The Vexilar FL-8SE Genz Pack with 19-Degree Ice-Ducer, model GP0819, is a classic portable three-color ice-fishing flasher system for real-time vertical sonar. It uses the FL-8SE flasher display and a 200 kHz, 19-degree Ice-Ducer to show weaker returns in green, medium returns in orange, and stronger returns such as the bottom in red. The Genz Pack carrier is designed for portable use and fits on a standard five-gallon bucket.

System Integration

The FL-8SE Genz Pack is a standalone ice-fishing sonar system and does not need a chartplotter, GPS receiver, NMEA 2000 network, external sonar module, or separate power source. The 19-degree Ice-Ducer provides a broad sonar cone suited to the supplied flasher configuration.

Use the depth range, gain, and ten interference-rejection settings to suit the water depth, lure depth, fish targets, bottom composition, and nearby flasher interference. The system shows real-time sonar returns but does not provide maps, GPS position, routes, or waypoint data.

Installation Considerations

Charge the supplied sealed lead-acid battery before use and keep the battery terminals protected from short circuits and moisture. Position the unit securely on the Genz Pack carrier, suspend the Ice-Ducer level beneath the ice, and keep the transducer cable free of sharp edges and strain. Do not lift or carry the transducer by its cable.
