Humminbird HELIX 5 DI G2 Fishfinder

Description

The Humminbird HELIX 5 DI G2 is a compact Down Imaging fishfinder for anglers who want a dedicated sonar display without GPS or marine networking. Its 5-inch color screen shows Down Imaging, SwitchFire, and DualBeam PLUS CHIRP through the included XNT 9 DI T transom-mount transducer. It is a straightforward fishing unit for small freshwater boats and compact consoles.

The 800 x 480 screen provides enough room for conventional and Down Imaging views, while the included transducer makes installation simple. Down Imaging is listed to 350 feet, with traditional sonar reaching 600 feet under the stated specification. This is a sonar-only unit: it does not provide GPS, waypoint navigation, charts, NMEA 2000, or Side Imaging. Choose it when bottom detail matters more than navigation features.

Key Features

• 5-inch color TFT display – Provides a compact screen for Down Imaging and fishfinding.
• Down Imaging – Shows downward structure detail beneath the boat.
• SwitchFire and DualBeam PLUS CHIRP – Provides conventional sonar presentation and target separation.
• XNT 9 DI T transom-mount transducer included – Makes the sonar package ready to install.
• 350-foot Down Imaging and 600-foot traditional range – Gives the stated depth capability for the two sonar modes.

Who Is This For?

This compact Down Imaging fishfinder suits small freshwater fishing boats, aluminum boats, and anglers who need sonar without GPS or networking. It is not ideal for offshore navigation, Side Imaging, waypoint marking, or buyers seeking a chartplotter and fishfinder combination.

Compatibility

Confirmed components include the XNT 9 DI T transom-mount transducer, Down Imaging, SwitchFire, and DualBeam PLUS CHIRP. Warranty & Support

Humminbird provides a 1-year limited warranty. The supplied specifications do not state warranty exclusions or service procedures.

The HELIX 5 DI G2 is the more detailed downward-imaging option compared with the Garmin STRIKER 4, but it gives up GPS and waypoint functions. The included transducer keeps the installation simple, while the trade-off is a narrower sonar and system scope. Choose it for bottom structure and freshwater fishfinding, not for navigation or a connected marine electronics network.
