This heavy-duty pump is engineered with tight tolerances to ensure minimal internal bypass, resulting in faster rudder response times and more accurate heading hold during both low-speed docking and high-speed cruising maneuvers.
Ideally suited for vessels with hydraulic steering rams, this pump must be matched to the cylinder volume for optimal performance. Installing the pump with short hydraulic hose runs and minimal 90-degree fittings is critical to reducing fluid turbulence and preventing air entrapment, which can cause “spongy” steering response.
