Description
Add AIS target reception to a computer-based navigation setup with the Digital Yacht AIS100 USB AIS Receiver. Its dual-channel receiver monitors both AIS frequencies and sends received vessel information through a simple USB 2.0 connection, making it useful for laptops, tablets with compatible adapters, and onboard PCs running navigation software. Need basic AIS awareness without installing a transmitting Class B or Class A unit? The AIS100 is a receive-only device that draws power from USB and connects to compatible PC, Mac, and Linux navigation applications.
Key Specifications

Integration
The AIS100 requires a suitable VHF AIS antenna or compatible antenna splitter and a computer or supported device with navigation software capable of reading AIS data. It is not a transceiver, chartplotter, radar, GPS receiver, MFD network device, or emergency beacon. Because it is receive-only, it does not broadcast your vessel identity or position to other AIS users.
AIS reception depends on antenna height, antenna quality, local VHF interference, distance, terrain, weather, and whether other vessels are transmitting accurate data. AIS does not show every vessel, buoy, floating object, or navigational hazard and should not replace radar, lookout duties, charts, or safe navigation practices.
Installation Notes
Install the receiver in a dry, protected location near the computer or USB hub. Route the AIS antenna cable away from high-current wiring and radio-frequency interference where possible. Use a suitable VHF/AIS antenna or approved splitter, and avoid relying on an unsuitable FM, cellular, or GPS antenna.
Connect the USB device to the navigation computer, install required drivers, select the correct serial/data port in the navigation software, and verify that received AIS targets appear correctly. Protect the USB connection from moisture, vibration, and accidental disconnection.
Before Ordering
Confirm compatible navigation software, available USB port, VHF/AIS antenna or splitter requirements, dry mounting location, computer operating-system support, and whether receive-only AIS meets the vessel’s operational needs before ordering.
