Integration

The DRS4D-NXT requires a compatible Furuno NavNet TZtouch, TZtouch2, TZtouch3, or supported TimeZero display for radar video and control. Radar data uses Furuno Ethernet, while NMEA 2000 can provide compatible GPS, heading, AIS, autopilot, and sensor information. MARPA, radar overlay, and target tracking require compatible display support and valid heading/position inputs.

Target Analyzer uses Doppler processing to help distinguish relative target movement. Its output depends on correct installation, radar configuration, target movement, weather, clutter, sea state, and display setup. The 36 NM figure is an instrumented range, not a guaranteed target-detection distance.

Installation Notes

Mount the 24-inch dome on a rigid, level radar platform with clear rotation and a practical view around the boat. Keep it clear of people, antennas, masts, rigging, lights, exhaust, and structures that can obstruct or reflect radar energy. Select the required Furuno power/Ethernet cable separately and route it away from heat, chafe, bilge water, high-current wiring, and moving equipment.

Use proper circuit protection, compatible Furuno cables, and manufacturer-specified mounting and safe-distance guidance. A qualified marine-electronics technician should complete Ethernet setup, heading alignment, radar calibration, and system commissioning.
